Gum Health Day – May 12th 2021

The History of Gum Health Day (GHD)

GHD is an international awareness day held every year on 12 May to raise public awareness about the seriousness of gum disease, the health problems associated with it and the importance of keeping our gums strong and healthy.

We at Perio and Implant Dental Referral are passionate about the oral health of our patients and understand the impact poor gum health can have on our general health as well as overall quality of life.

With the help of the British Society of Periodontology and the European Federation of Periodontology, we are delighted to be able to provide multiple sources of information to help you to recognise the signs of gum disease and understand how to prevent and manage it effectively. We hope you find them useful.

The slogan for 2021 is “Gum diseases are preventable – visit your dental team”
